We are excited to announce that since organizing in 2006 we have funded worthy educational projects throughout our school district totaling more than $93,000. We are a locally grown 501(c) charitable foundation created specifically for the benefit of children in the Trumansburg School District. We are supported by generous volunteers, donors and partners throughout our community.
Our Mission: More specifically, our critical mission is to: (i) Enhance pre-K through 12 educational and extracurricular opportunities in the district; (ii) Forge partnerships with friends of the Trumansburg Central School District; and (iii) Raise funds and award grants to foster personal growth and encourage excellence.

Our Programs: We pursue our mission through three programs:
(i) Teacher Grants: We have a wealth of educators in our area and a strong community of collaborators. With this powerful combination, we have the opportunity to fund projects or materials for use in classrooms and community centers that are outside the school budget, through two grant cycles each year.
(ii) Trumansburg Kids Explore & Discover Program (TKED): Our TKED program provides more than 600 Pre-K through 6th grade students with exploratory learning experiences at Discovery Trail sites including the Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell Plantations, the Sciencenter, Museum of the Earth, Tompkins county public library, Cayuga Nature Center, the Lab of Ornithology and the History Center’s Eight Square School House.
(iii) Award for Community Service: Each year we award a scholarship for education expenses following high school to a graduating senior demonstrating a commitment to community service.
2012 Report: Our 2012 Report to the Community offers more information regarding our efforts and evidence of the generosity of our community. You can see this report on our website: 2012 Report to the Community. (www.tcsdfoundation.org/news).
2013 Initiatives: While our efforts in 2013 will focus on our existing programs, we are exploring new avenues for satisfying our mission including a crowdfunding portal, a student run community newsletter, and undertaking fiscal sponsorships. Please visit our website to learn more and keep up to date on our 2013 initiatives.
